Traditional Family Villa in a peaceful countryside setting, close to the bustling market town of Vila Nova de Cacela and beach of Manta Rota. The extensive interior, with its Moroccan themed decor, accommodates 20 guests, complemented outside with mature gardens and wrap-round terraces with spectacular views from all angles creating the perfect rural retreat. A short drive leads to the nearby Monte Rei Golf course, two friendly traditional Portuguese restaurants and the local town and beach

De ruimte
Park on the gravel driveway and be instantly transported into calm and serenity. Tucked away amongst trees and mature gardens is a hidden gem waiting to receive its guests.

GROUND FLOOR The house entrance opens immediately into an L-shaped living space. The kitchen is welcoming and well equipped with white cupboards, major appliances and a food preparation island, with an adjoining dining table accompanied by comfy seating. Turn the corner and you may be surprised to see an extra-long lounge extending more than 20 meters filled with ornate decorations, more sofas and a pool table! For added convenience, the ground floor also has a guest WC, and 2 large bedrooms, one of which is a family room with double bed / 2 single beds, and one with an ensuite shower room.

FIRST FLOOR Take the ornate stair case to the first floor to find the remaining 6 bedrooms, with a mix of double and single beds accommodating any combination of guests, and an additional 2 further bathrooms to share. A lovely, paved terrace runs along the front bedrooms, and here the views are simply amazing, reaching out across the rolling hills to the ocean.

OUSTIDE SPACE The large house sits majestically on a hilltop, yet its imposing presence is protected and hidden by mature gardens with palm trees, Mediterranean shrubs and other interesting succulents. Aside from the astounding interior space, the outside living areas are also a treat. Terraces wrap around the entire house, dotted with furniture and secret spaces where you can sit peacefully and pass the time of day. For family get togethers, a large traditional BBQ, and 2 extended dining tables, 1 in the shade and 1 poolside make large family-dining a perfect occasion with lazy lunches and long, warm suppers. During the day, the sun worshippers can relax around the pool and enjoy sunbeds to soak up the rays with nothing more than birdsong to disturb the peace. At night, gaze up at the stars and listen to the crickets whistling away…there are no houses in the immediate vicinity, so the place is yours! This is a fabulous house for extended families to enjoy a break together. This is not a property for guests seeking modern, shiny and new, but its rustic charm and personality, coupled with its amazing location offers a certain special something….

This is a private accommodation and guests will be able to access all advertised areas and use all advertised facilities. There are no steps to the main house which has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom conveniently located on the ground floor. However, there are 7 shallow steps to the swimming pool, and some steps within the garden, if you care to talk a walk. Parking is on-site, with parking for many cars.

Picture a typical bucolic Algarvian country scene of undulating hills populated with cork oak, olive and carob, of small holders tending their crops under sunny blue skies and Corte Antonio Martins comes to mind. In deep country, this small hamlet is an idyllic rural retreat, off the beaten track and truly authentic.

Cuisine: At the heart of the hamlet, traditional country fayre can be enjoyed at the hospitable Casa Fernanda, whilst by car, you can discover other superb eateries nearby in the surrounding hills - or for gastronomic delights, head to Monte Rei Golf for Michelin Star excellence. 

Beaches: The Algarve’s famed beaches are but a short drive away at Manta Rota and Altura where long stretches of golden sands can be enjoyed by young and old.

Nature: Enjoy walks and cycling in the countryside, head to the local nature reserve at Castro Marim, or head to the coast to explore the vast Ria Formosa Natural Park.

Activities: First class golf can be enjoyed at local Monte Rei Golf, while water sports abound at the beach or perhaps take a boat trip along the graceful Guadiana River.

TAVIRA:
Tavira: The delightful attractions of Tavira are just a short drive away, with colourful cobbled streets, the famed Roman bridge over the meandering Rio Gilão, and an intriguing historical quarter replete with handsome 17th century merchants’ mansions, fine churches and convents of architectural note all bidding for your attention. Castle ramparts have been faithfully restored housing beautiful gardens of indigenous and exotic varieties, while pretty squares edged with café terraces offer the perfect pre-text for lazy afternoons while watching the World pass by. Cuisine: An abundance of excellent eateries abounds to suit all tastes and pockets, from the traditional to the more avant-garde. Fish and seafood are king here, freshly caught and served grilled, while a plethora of contemporary tapas bars have brought an edge and finesse to the local offering. Plentiful local cafés and gelaterias offer pleasing resting points while out exploring, and keen chefs will enjoy the daily market for freshly caught fish, seafood, meats and produce, all sourced locally and sold over a cacophony of local colour and commotion within the vast market place.

HOLIDAY GUIDE:
Smartavillas has a fantastic holiday guide packed with lots of information including points of local interest, activities, and restaurant recommendations. For your convenience, we will send an electronic copy before you arrive and also provide a QR code in the villa.

ADDITIONAL CLEANING/SHEET CHANGE
As properties are rented on a self-catering arrangement, a daily maid and interim property cleaning service/linen change are not included in the price, but if required, can be provided for an additional charge. Further details available on request.

WE KINDLY REQUEST:
The house will be well presented for your arrival, and departure cleaning is included in the rental value. However, we do ask for a respectful co-operation with the removal of rubbish, and that BBQ facilities are cleaned of food and debris before you leave. Charges will be incurred if it is deemed that the property is left in an unacceptable condition.

DEPARTURE DAY:
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end! - and on departure day, check out time is requested at 10.00h. We will contact you towards the end of your stay to confirm this. We may be able to offer a later departure time only if there are no guests arriving on the same day. Unfortunately, however, this is unlikely in the summer months due to high volumes of reservations.
