NOTE: the 1990's section of the home has a large master and bath on one level. The other section has steep stairs, two bedrooms upstairs and the bathroom at the bottom of those stairs.

Two homes adjoined, not seperate! The 1990's home and the 1950's home are together, connected by a hallway and are fully yours and not shared by other guests. Just 1 mile from town center and 1.5 miles from Humber Park.

Welcome To “Happy Ours”...
Enjoy two amazing living experiences in one home! Each section of the home has it’s own bathroom and kitchen. One part of the house was built in the 1990’s. It has one bedroom with a DUX queen bed and master bathroom with separate bidet and toilet room, two vanities, separate shower and a large soaking tub. "Happy Ours - Creekside" also has an amazing chef’s kitchen and a stone fireplace which is a historical conversation piece and a must see. The other side of the home was built in the 1950’s, extremely charming, and has two bedrooms, a fully renovated bathroom with double vanity, and a fully renovated kitchen. The seating room has 2 sleeper sofas and upstairs there are two bedrooms with a full bed and three twin beds.

CREEKSIDE! The backyard of this home sits about 20 feet from a gorgeous, rushing creek surrounded by lush landscape and boulders. The views from the large deck are something out of a fairy tale and the sound of the creek will rock you to sleep in the hammock. There is a long private driveway with plenty of room for several cars. Please note that the yard is not fully fenced.

The Interior of Happy Ours...
This approximately 2,400 square foot warm, inviting family home is stunning and made for making memories. There are countless amounts of character and personal touches throughout. Put your feet up and take in the roar of the large wood burning fire place while enjoying quality time with family and friends. The artistically designed stone fireplace cannot be described in words or pictures. This fireplace is a historical conversation piece and a must see. The home works well for couples, friends and families including the family dogs :-)

***MY HOMES ARE PROFESSIONALLY DEEP CLEANED every stay by my amazing cleaning crew. I pay them a living wage and tip them out of pocket often to save you more fees.

PRO TRAINED: My homes are homes, not your typical vacation rental. I pride myself in making sure all homes are stocked and your needs are met and then some. In addition to being a 21+ year local and an artist/designer, I worked for the Hotel Del Coronado for years so I know five-star hospitality well. Everything you need is waiting for you and anything else you may want, just ask.

PET RULES: I don’t charge extra for one dog but there is a $20 flat fee for your others (3 max). I appreciate you following these rules and please read the detailed sheet on the binder at the house:
• Please keep your dog(s) off of the furniture OR cover the furniture completely with blankets that you brought from home (this helps cut down on my cleaning crews laundry load).
• If they can jump up on the bed or sleep with you please remove my comforters and replace with your dog friendly blankets.
• Keep your dogs leashed (if they wander) on walks & bring clean up bags.
• Please minimize barking (we don’t want complaints from neighbors).
• Please wipe down paws and body with the towels that you brought after outside play..
• Please clean up after your dog completely before checking out. Place waste in outside trash cans in th back yard.
• Accidents happen sometimes, I understand. There is a stain remover under the kitchen sink.
Please leave a note or email with information about accidents or damage.
• Only leave your dogs alone in our home if you are sure they won’t cause any damage. Take your dog with you to many of the dog friendly places in town.

I have another property called the "Little House" that has a fully fenced 1/2 acre yard if you were wanting more fenced romp room for your furry kiddos.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Hello again! This is Melissa and I love, love, love offering five star hospitality. If you are like me, the excitement of preparing and planning for my trips is a big part of the fun. Below you will find very detailed information (I know...it’s tons!) so everything you expect and more is covered. If there is anything here that you are not satisfied with then please cancel your reservation and I will give you a full refund (if you cancel at least 7 days out). The vacation rental site may or may not keep your booking fee. I would NEVER want any of my guests less than thrilled with their amazing get away. Please text me with any clarifications needed and please text me during your stay if you need anything to make your vacation even better.

MY INFORMATION BINDER: My binder at the homes has everything you need to know regarding the wifi log in, how the house works, fun things to do, great hikes, great restaurants, etc.

COVID-19: Our town requires you wear a mask. Each store and restaurant have their own rules about when it can come off. Most stores and restaurants are open. Some restaurants only do take out. Hikes and trails should be open but best to check with the Idyllwild Ranger Station (below).

COVID CLEANING: We follow the Covid safe cleaning protocol, however I do not block a day before and after each booking. I do offer that at one of my homes, please inquire if important to you. I also have extra cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer in my homes.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE: is my home up to your CLEANING STANDARDS? My cleaning crew is amazing, they do a very deep clean every stay, but occasionally they miss something. Please give them a chance to make it right by texting me and I will send them right over.

DIRECTIONS, ADDRESS & LOCK BOX CODE: I will send those details TWO DAYS PRIOR to your stay.

CHECK IN: Anytime after 3:00 pm at all of my homes except the 2400 square foot home (below).
4:00 pm IS CHECK IN at my 2400 square foot home, the three bedroom on Tahquitz Drive (named “Happy Ours” - two homes in one).

CHECK OUT IS 11:00 am sharp: When departing please follow the step by step check out sheet located in the binder... it will be a big help to my amazing cleaning crew!

CHECK OUT SHEET at the houses: Please please please read them and follow them. My crew does a very deep clean every time but they need some help from you too. We appreciate your understanding and willingness to help on check out basics.

EARLY IN/OUT: I like offering early check ins and late check outs (at no charge) when I don’t have a back to back check out/in. If this is of interest to you text me the night before your reservation and/or the night before you leave. I can let you know if the option is available. If not available please come enjoy the shops, restaurants, walks & hikes early. I will try to text you if my home is done early.

NOISE/OCCUPANCY RULES: All of my homes are incredible and it will be very temping to have groups or parties. As stated before, I have an accurate maximum occupancy for each home. My homes are for relaxing with friends and family and not for loud gatherings or parties. This is out of respect for my homes, my neighbors and due to permit laws. Some guests broke these rules in the past so I am sadly forced to be strict: IF THERE ARE NOISE COMPLAINTS, OR YOU HAVE MORE PEOPLE THERE THAN APPROVED, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO CHECK OUT AND BE CHARGED THE TOTAL COST OF THE STAY. Thank you for understanding.

ADDITIONAL GUESTS: If you did not put the accurate number of guests on your original booking then please bring your own sheets, blankets, pillows (if they require their own bed) and towels for those extra guests. My crew only puts out what is needed based on the occupancy you stated on the reservation.

LAUNDRY & TRASH: If you feel you used an excessive amount of laundry or filled the trash cans in excess, please tip my crew at the end of your stay. I pay them a living wage and I tip them often but any extra from you is greatly appreciated. Also if you need extra clean linens or a trash dump during your stay please text me and we can make that happen.

BEDS: My homes have comfy beds, luxury lines and white comforters (with white duvet covers). If you feel that it will be difficult to keep them from being stained or damaged please bring your own blankets or comforters and put mine away in a closet or chest at the house.

PET POLICY (if you are bringing any): I love, love, love dogs but I also love my homes and respect my neighbors too so please follow my pet policy below. This information is also on the binder in the homes.
BRING YOUR OWN BLANKETS/TOWELS If they can jump up on the bed or sleep with you please remove my white comforters and replace with your dog friendly blankets. Please wipe down paws and body with the towels that you brought after outside play.

TAKE THEM WITH YOU: Only leave your dogs alone in our home if you are sure they won’t cause any damage. Take your dog with you to many of the dog friendly places in town.
BEDS & KENNELS: Please bring your own if you need them.

ELECTRICITY SHUT OFFS: Yes this happens occasionally without notice. If the winds are high or if they are upgrading lines for fire safety then there may be a temporary shut off. I have electric candles, flashlights and lanterns at the homes plus they all have wood burning fire places. I suggest bringing whatever extra items you feel you would need to handle this possible “glamping” situation with ease.

STOCKED ITEMS: My homes are homes, not typical vacation rentals so I have more than just your standard items throughout the kitchen, bathroom (blow dryer...yes) and bedrooms. These stocked items are for your use if you forgot or ran out of something. Sometimes I run out of items and they don’t get re-stocked immediately. Please bring your own favorites to make sure you have what you need.

GO ON A SCAVENGER HUNT: My homes have extra blankets, towels, pillows, linens, paper products, an iron & ironing board... you name it I stocked it! BUT who knows where guests move things so open drawers, closets, cupboards, etc and you will most likely find whatever you need. If you don’t have enough then text me and I will send my crew right over with more.

COFFEE: Please bring your own, but there is some in the freezer if you run out. There is a french press & drip coffee maker for your use.

MY KITCHENS: My kitchens have just about everything you cooking lovers could need, however, if you love a certain pot, pan, gadget or utensil probably best to bring it along just in case I missed that one!

FIREPLACE/FIREWOOD: All of my Idyllwild homes have wood burning fireplaces. Please bring your own wood and kindling or I have bundles of wood for sale at the home for a $10 convenience fee per bundle. There is instructions on the check out sheet at the house for payment. You can also purchase bundles in town for $7-$10.

HIKING: I highly recommend you contact the Idyllwild Ranger Station to find out what trails are easy to hard, what trails allow dogs, what trails are open and closed. You may also need a parking pass and/or hiking pass. **Please pack extra water and snacks (think of your pup too if bringing them).

DRINKING WATER: ***DRINK MORE WATER THAN USUAL*** The altitude could cause headaches and water is your friend that wants to help. Bring your refillable water bottle and fill up at my homes. Idyllwild tap water is yummy and right from nature so drinking from the tap is great and locals have done that for years. I also have a water filter pitcher in the refrigerator for those of you that don’t quite feel safe about it.

TV’s: My homes do not have cable but have Smart TV’s. Please remember your passwords :-) ...Two of my homes also have DVD players and several DVD’s.

GAS GRILL: There is a gas grill with propane and an extra tank if needed. Please clean the grill and the utensils after use and place utensils back on grill for next guest. If you use an excessive amount of the propane my crew and I would LOVE it if you left some money for propane or went and filled a tank at the Chevron (cheapest) for the next guest.

PATIO FURNITURE/PADS: If the patio furniture cushions have been put away due to weather, they are stored in the sheds or storage boxes on the property. When unexpected rain or snow is coming we would so appreciate you storing them so they are dry for use later.

ACTIVITIES FOR FAMILIES: There is quite a lot to do in Idyllwild (and surrounding areas) for adults and adults with kiddos. I can send you information in advance if you request it or it is printed in the information binder at the house.

• WINTER: If you are coming during winter months you should have all wheel or four wheel drive and/or carry chains just to be safe. If there is a lot of snow Idyllwild will not let you up the hill into town if you aren’t carrying chains in your car. If you purchase chains ask if they can be returned if unopened. We normally have light snow fall (1 to 7 inches) but we have had good dumps in the past at times. Snow typically starts in January and has gone into April on occasion. The city is pretty good at staying on top of plowing the streets but that is no guarantee. DRIVEWAYS WILL BE PLOWED ONCE at my expense (no guarantee it will be done prior to arrival due to how busy the plowers are). If you would like shoveling or plowing during your stay you can pay them directly. Plan ahead because there are few people that do that service and their lists can be full. Text me if needed and I will send you a list of people to contact. I have snow shovels at the house if needed... a great, fun work out - when you don’t have to live it everyday :-)
***HOMES WITH AN INCLINE: PARK AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY WITH BACK OF CAR JUST OFF STREET.

SUMMER: My homes have AC but not central AC. Many homes in Idyllwild do not have any... it is a necessity in my opinion! I also have portable fans and/or ceiling fans in my homes... all to help make you as comfortable as possible.
BUGS! The summer is amazing BUT we do get some flying insects at some homes more than others. Please keep doors closed, bring a citronella candle and a bug repellent to make sure you are comfy. I stock some of that but it runs out quickly.
