Free street parking only. Unfortunately, we do not have parking available on the property for this Airbnb. Generally parking is not bad M-F before 5pm. It gets a little harder if you arrive late in the evening. Generally, finding free street parking is much easier than most LA neighborhoods such as Dtla, Koreatown, Weho, where it is actually impossible. Pls contact the host if you have any issues.

(Consider that you can also decide to rent a car in Downtown LA ) after you arrive. Uber and the subway are also options.

Please be aware that check in starts at 4pm on the first day of your stay, not earlier. This is to ensure that your stay does not overlap with another guest’s stay (who may be checking out earlier that day) and so that we can thoroughly clean and disinfect the entire Airbnb. If the Airbnb is available earlier, I will let the guest know on the day of check in but I cannot guarantee it.

If you require an early check in or late check out time, you will need to book an additional day before or after your original booking dates.

Our goal is to make you comfortable and enjoy staying in your own 500 sq foot apartment.

Free street parking only.

Please look at the photos carefully before you book. You’ll see the layout, artwork, and interior design represented clearly. You should not book this Airbnb if anything in the photos bothers you.

The apt is located in a duplex. There are three detached houses on one property. The photos pictured in the listing are of the apt and is not a shared space. What is shared is the hallway at the entrance of the duplex building in between two different apartments, much like you might share a hallway in any building with separate units, apts, offices, etc.

There is no door between the bedroom and living room, only a walkway. The white door in the living room leads into what was formerly the part of the old porch. It’s since been turned into a room/closet with two locks. We use it for storage and guests can also store suitcases, etc there.

There is a potential for some noise as the walkway to get to the back of the property runs alongside the side the Airbnb. The residential lots in LA are also very close together. ( LA is a city with lots of population density. ) You may potentially hear other guests walk by to access their units in the back.

LA has also been having a problem with people setting off fireworks due to the protests. Fireworks in residential neighborhoods are illegal but it’s also been a challenge for law enforcement to police this activity.

That being said, hosts are not mind readers and we cannot help resolve any issues that might arise if you do not let us know. Our rules may appear strict, but it is the only way to ensure that all of our guests (including before & after your booking), our neighbors, our cleaners, and our property are treated fairly and with respect.

Please be aware that smoking and vaping are NOT ALLOWED INSIDE. Please smoke vape OUTSIDE, away from open windows, AWAY from the neighbors fences.

No pets or service animals allowed please.

This property features several detached houses on one piece of land. LA is a metropolitan city with small lots and high population density. This airbnb is part of a duplex in one of these houses. That means parts of the unit shares a wall as well as a ventilation system with the fans in the bathroom. Your apartment is private and your own. The only thing you share is common entrance and a hallway, like in any larger building with separate apartments.

The airbnb is located on a quiet residential street. There is potential from noise from the following: 1) The pathway to access the back of the property runs alongside the side of the house. You may hear another guest walk by to access the back of the property. 2) There are three charter schools (elementary, middle, high school) located down the block and you might hear kids walk by the house on weekday afternoons. Luckily, because they are charter schools and don’t have a field onsite, you won’t hear any bells, etc.

We do not have carpeting in our home because it’s impossible to clean. (Side Note: You know that white dust that flies into the air when you remove carpet? That’s skin. It’s impossible to fully clean the debris that accumulates in carpet fibers.) All of our flooring is wood and tile to allow proper cleaning in between guests.

When you enter your airbnb, you will find a living room with 12 ft ceilings, an inwall heater, a desk, a sofa, a smoke/carbon monoxide alarm and a large window with a laminate filter on the lower portion of the glass. This allows guests to pull back the curtain to allow more light inside without sacrificing privacy day or night. There is a small room we use for storage to the right.

From the living room entrance, when you turn to the left you enter the bedroom where you will find 12 ft ceilings, a ceiling fan, an upright wardrobe, smoke/carbon monoxide alarm, under bed storage drawers, an ironing board, and a window with laminated glass on the second half to ensure privacy (day or night)  and an opaque curtain to dim out unwanted light.

From the bedroom you can access the kitchen, where you will find a microwave, fridge, electric kettle, toaster oven, coffee maker, silverware, fire extinguisher, dish soap, a scrubber, iron, clothing steamer, and dishes/bowls/cups for two guests. There is a window unit Air Conditioner here.

The bathroom is attached to the bedroom and features auto lights (they can be turned off manually), a ceiling fan, hand soap, shampoo, plunger, toilet brush, hair dryer, and towels.

I apologize if the description comes off as blunt but we’ve found that it’s best to present with absolute clarity what this Airbnb is and isn’t.

Toegang voor gasten
There is a shared front and back yard.

Andere dingen waar je op moet letten
As experienced hosts, we’ve done our absolute best to show the layout and details of this listing. Often guests complain about details that we have already disclosed, amenities we never offered (such as making reservations at restaurants, getting tickets to theme parks, etc.), or transportation logistics, idiosyncratic proclivities (For example, not liking the artwork, etc.). Although we are alway here to address any issues and help out in any way possible, there are also things beyond our control. For example, we don’t know a guest’s schedule or travel plans in LA. A location that might be ideal for one person might not be for the next. We are also not mind readers and cannot help a guest if they don’t communicate with us.

Please also keep in mind that Los Angeles is one of the most expensive cities to live in in the world. The cost of living, goods, and services are all high in LA. If you don’t include LA county, Los Angeles is the 2nd most populated city (after NYC). California is the most populated state in the USA. You are visiting a major metropolitan area with lots of diversity and you should keep expectations in line with that reality. There is a self check in guide with photos and instructions on the app. Scroll down on your reservation page to look through the step by step guide.

Please note that there is a potential for noise and light. There is a driveway located next to the living room and bedroom. The glass on the windows in the kitchen and bathroom are obscured so no one can look in. The windows in the bedroom and living room face the driveway.

There are security cameras on the exterior of the property only. Guests should feel secure that we know who is coming and going on the property.

As a guest- it is your responsibility to look at the photos and read the listings. The reason why we have to have so much text and so many photos IS BECAUSE guests continue to complain or misrepresent details about the listing because they don’t read the listing before booking. (For instance, we had a guest complain about their dislike of the art at the end of their stay. The photos of the art are clearly visible. There are plenty of other listings in Echo Park or Dtla where you can share a room in a host’s occupied home or a hotel that costs 2-4x the price of this listing nearby.) This is your own apt with new furniture, a new bathroom, a new kitchen, new wiring, new flooring, new walls, art. Please be realistic. This is not the Four Seasons or the Chateau Marmont. Our photos clearly show what the interior of the apt looks like including the layout.

As hosts, we really strive to provide our guests the best possible experience but we require guests to communicate with us. I highly encourage guests to communicate with us to let me know of any issues or concerns. Often guests assume that hosts are mind readers, but we are not. We're here to help you and resolve any issues or answer any questions you may have, but we will not be aware of any issues unless you let us know. (For instance, if you have any noise complaints - PLEASE let us know.)

Without a booking, we cannot give you the address of the listing for safety reasons, especially if you don’t have any reviews or a photo. The listing includes a map of the general location and we have disclosed that we are located about 10 min (walking) to the Indiana Stop on the Goldline subway.

Please check out our neighborhood guides. We are adding more information and guides all the time.

There is free street parking. We do not offer parking on the property as an amenity. For guests new to Airbnb or LA, please review the listing carefully to make sure this is the right listing for you. Depending on traffic/time of day/destination- travel times in LA can vary drastically.

No parties or unauthorized filming.

No playing music outdoors in the front or back yards.

Additional housekeeping is available with an additional cleaning fee so we can pay the cleaners.

There is a high school and elementary school at the end of the block. When school lets out is the only time there is really any foot traffic in front of the house. We have neighbors with kids in the back of the property who can get loud from time to time.

Please be respectful of our family's home, other tenants, and neighbors. No smoking or vaping inside. Not even through the window. No parties or unauthorized filming. This is not a party house or a recording studio.

Please do not blast music from your car in the driveway. Our neighbor’s bedroom is 2 feet away. This is a residential area within the city of Los Angeles - which means small lots and high density zoning. Please do not disturb our neighbors.

Many guests have complained about the following, so I feel we need to disclose this: Please be aware that we cannot offer amenities like getting tickets for venues, amusement parks, or setting restaurant reservations, or offering daily turn down service. Nor can we give you the actual address or code to access the apt if you have not booked for safety reasons. Nor can we schedule viewings beforehand (especially if there is currently a guest staying there.) The general location as well as the description of the general location and map (Indiana stop on the Goldline subway) are all details available to guests on the listing, as are photos depicting the layout and artwork within the airbnb. Our rules may appear strict but it’s the only way to ensure that all guests, our cleaners, and our neighbors are treated fairly and respectfully.

Los Angeles, Californië, Verenigde Staten

We are close to: DTLA, Silverlake, Echo Park, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Arts District, Monterey Park, El Monte, Vernon, Cypress Park, El Sereno, Arts District, Keck USC Hospital, Cal State LA, Staples Center, Nokia Theatre, Dodger Stadium, Soho Club (DTLA), Convention Center, Museum of Contemporary Art, The Broad, Hauser Wirth & Schimmel, Sci Arc, Alhambra, Mount Washington, Highland Park, Montecito Heights, USC's main campus, Fashion District, Flower Market, etc.

The airbnb is located next to Entity Magazine Headquarters in Boyle Heights, just 10 minutes (down 1st Street) from Downtown Los Angeles.

There is a CVS drugstore, 24 hour Laundromat with fluff & fold, gas station, grocery store 2 blocks from the house. The subway station (Indiana Stop on the Goldline) is a 10 min walk and will take you downtown. The nearest Starbucks is about a 10 min walk on 3rd St and Gage Ave. Unlike most LA neighborhoods, we have easy access to all major freeways.

The immediate neighborhood is a residential neighborhood with a lots of families. There is an elementary and high school at the end of the block. Many of our neighbors have lived in the neighborhood for generations and are wonderful people. Some of our guests - particularly those that have never been to LA and/or are less travelled - have unfortunately made some statements or have come to some conclusions that are uninformed / unfair. I'm going to be blunt. First, I would like to say that having grown up in LA, and having lived all over from the Westside to the suburbs since immigrating to this country in the '80s, LA is unlike any other city in the world - which might make it hard to understand for the new visitor. The majority of our neighbors are Hispanic Americans who can trace their lineage back to this country for multiple generations. The largest ethnic group in LA (and California) will soon be Hispanic. Our neighbors really watch out for each other and there is a strong sense of community.

Los Angeles is like any other large metropolitan - international city like London, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Seoul, Sydney, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Paris. We are located in a city - not a fuzzy planned community in the suburbs or a homogenous affluent enclave like Irvine, Laguna, or La Jolla. (No offense.) Obviously, one should exercise common sense and caution in any large city with millions of people. Just because you are in an area perceived to be "whiter" like Hollywood (which isn’t so, btw), does not make your safer. You are in a major city with millions of people from all over the world doing millions of things. Some parts of LA have a higher population density than Manhattan. To take issue with the fact that the predominant ethnicity in the neighborhood (and LA for that matter) is Hispanic would be like going to Quebec and saying you don’t want to interact with French speaking people. A bit unrealistic and not inline with our values.

I really encourage visitors to get out of their comfort zone and experience all the amazing experiences this city has to offer. The food and music scenes are exploding. There are many museums and galleries throughout the city. There are free farmers markets, flea markets, and summer festivals such as Chinatown nights. There are countless music venues and fun bars. Many well known American labels actually get their clothing produced right here in DTLA. It's the last and largest clothing production capital in the US, no wonder so many indie labels keep popping up. LA is sprawling, it takes a little bit more effort to get from one neighborhood to the next as we are a horizontal city (rather than vertical).

I'm a designer living in Los Angeles. I love meeting new people and exploring other cultures and traveling. We’ve had guests from all over the world (Middle East, Africa, Europe, North & South America, all of Asia, Australia.) I have lived all over this city from the Westside to the suburbs over a 30 year period and I can't imagine living anywhere else.
