A modern loft comprising 3 levels, situated in a former warehouse, and located at the Kop van Zuid (Head of South) in Rotterdam. Part of a new neighborhood that is built in old, abandoned port areas, now urbanized and redesigned as a marina harbor.
The apartment is very quiet, very spacious (150 m3), high ceilings, and furnished in simple and stylish ways. It has no internal walls, except for a big block containing bathroom and toilets, sealed off from the rest of the house.
The apartment is on the 2nd+3rd+4th floor of the building. Entry level at the 3rd floor (hallway, toilet, kitchen, living area). Stairs from hallway down to 2nd level (work area, bathroom, toilet, sleep area). Stairs from hallway up to 4th level (lounge, outside terrace). The kitchen is fully equiped, with fridge, dishwasher, oven and microwave.
- 15 minutes walk from the city center, museums, and shopping areas (or easy 5-minute trip with bus, tram, or metro).
- 10 minutes walk to Wilhelminaplein "Manhattan on the Maas", with the famous Erasmus Bridge, restaurants, bars, and trendy movie theatre Lantaarn Venster.
- 10 minutes walk to Oude Haven, with famous cubic houses, restaurants, and bars.
Fast access to/from airport by hi-speed train and metro (45 minutes in total).
- 15 minutes walk to the Feyenoord stadium ("de Kuip"), a big Pathe cinema and restaurants.
A strong feature is the big Jumbo supermarket on ground level, which is open all days of the year. Another strong feature is its orientation toward the north, meaning it's never hot inside the house, though plenty of sun available on the terrace. There's also free parking available in the area.
No children running around. (We've already had a bad experience there.)
No high heels (because of the wooden floors).
Don't keep windows open when it's raining (again, because of the floors).
Properly lock the door when leaving (seems obvious, but some don't do it).
Jurgen is the perfect host. Super organized, communicative and always available to solve any problem. His apartment is huge, modern and luxurious. The location is very near to the center of Rotterdam in a an historic building. We had an amazing year enjoying the best view of Rotterdam from the rooftop terrace.
Our stay was perfect. Jurgen was very quickly in his respons and if there was something he arranged it inmediately.
The loft in De Vijf Werelddelen in Rotterdam is an excellent place to stay. It's stylishly furnished, with all kinds of modcons (such as a Nespresso coffeemaker and a dishwasher), and it is immaculately kept.
It's very centrally located, in the middle of the Entrepot Haven area, with shops, bars and restaurants, within walking distance from the Kop van Zuid area with musea and theatres, and a short metro ride away from the shopping centre of Rotterdam.
Although it was freezing cold and snowing when we were staying in Rotterdam, we particularly liked the rooftop terrace with its' view of the De Hef bridge!
This is a great apartment with everything you need. The location is perfect with shops and restaurants right downstairs and just a couple of minutes walk to the metro station or tram stop giving you access to the center of town really quickly.
Having stayed whilst looking for a permanent place to live, my husband and I liked the area so much that we now stay literally around the corner.
Dealing with Jurgen was a pleasure and we would both recommend both the apartment and the host!
Jurgen was a great host - very willing to be flexible when my plans changed.
We had a great stay at Jurgens loft in Rotterdam! It was perfectly situated near the city's centre, with many tourist attractions within walking distance. The loft itself was beyond our expectations; very spacious and luxurious, and with a great view of the Rotterdam skyline (especially at night, from the loft's terrace). Jurgen was the perfect host, very friendly and accommodating. We especially appreciated that it wasn't a problem to postpone our stay for a few days due to family circumstances, and that we didn't need to clean the apartment upon our leave (that's always such an anti-climax after a perfect holiday). We will definitely try to visit Jurgen again sometime, and we highly recommend a stay in his beautiful loft to anyone who wishes to have a great time in Rotterdam!
