The local suburb of West Bridgford is renowned for being one of the trendiest suburbs in The Midlands. Shops on Central Avenue just 15 mins walk include M&S Food, The Health Store, The Co-op, an array of great charity shops for seasoned nifty thrifty shoppers, as well as the more exclusive Oliver Bonas and JoJo Maman Bébé boutiques. There are a number of small gift shops as well as other general shopping. “The Avenue”, as more locally referred to, offers excellent dining experiences, depending on taste and budget - Tiffin Tea House (providing all the comforts of the great British tradition of afternoon tea and more…….having starred in Location, Location, Location in 2017), Philos, No 8 Deli, Copper Bar Cafe, Carluccios, Cotes Brasserie, Yumacha, Gusto’s, Escabeche, The Test Match Pub/Bar/Night Club, The Stratford Haven Real Ale Pub and the Larwood & Voce Tavern just behind Trent Bridge Cricket Ground to name a few!

In addition, there are many other good places to shop and dine. For a cheaper outdoor dining experience, Alfresco Southwell’s kiosk is located on the edge of the lovely green spacious West Bridgford Park and is a stone’s throw from the busy West Bridgford high street and great local library. You will also find West Bridgford registry office in Bridgford Park.

Not forgetting the closest venues to home, nestled between the Lady Bay Tennis Club and Bowling Green on Pierrepont Road in Lady Bay, is the Poppy & Pint, a firm favourite amongst the local community and visitors alike, with its warm welcoming atmosphere, fantastic food and friendly staff. Also nearby on Trent Boulevard is Bread and Butterflies Expresso Bar and Eatery, a welcoming and beautiful tea room and gift shop where you can truly relax with delicious, freshly made food and drink while listening to vintage vinyl. Lots of arty, crafty stuff happens there too.

The house has free accessible parking for one car, and free on-street parking for any further cars if needed.

Ann works from the family home as a freelance artist and lifestyle coach. She has adult twins, a son and daughter. The family enjoy all things creative, also walking, photography, cycling, recycling and upcycling, passionate beachcombers who love space, peace and quiet and being inspired. The Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland is a favourite holiday destination. Quirky British films with a mix of interesting characters and plots usually inspire. Preference for wholesome and homely 'fodder' every time. Music tastes are usually varied, spacious and inspiring. The twins are both keen creatives, now art students and are very sociable when around. Very welcoming and relaxed hosts. The family travelling style is usually for the unique glamping options, self-catering barns, boats on land or other quirky accommodation and locations.

Ann will meet you at her home. She can be available throughout your stay either face to face or on the phone should you have any questions about your stay or the local area. You can enjoy the peace and quiet or share conversation and the odd cuppa. The homeowner works from home so interaction will vary depending on freelance working commitments.
