You may never want to leave, but we encourage you to venture out as well to enjoy the many local attractions: within minutes are sandy beaches, surfing, theaters, shopping, and the Del Mar horse races. Within 30 minutes are Old Town with its authentic Mexican Restaurants and the historic Gaslamp District in the heart of downtown San Diego. For the kids, choose from Legoland (5min), Sea World (30min), the San Diego Zoo (30min), Wild Animal Park (30 min), and of course Disneyland (45min).

I fell in love with the concept of being able to share someone's home and get a feel for what it's like to be immersed in their culture and community rather than being at a hotel.
