Airbnb Plus Program Terms and Conditions

Airbnb Plus (“Plus” or “Program”) is a Program that allows Hosts to apply to receive a “Plus” classification that recognizes Listings with exceptional quality, comfort and style.
Airbnb may terminate or modify Plus at any time for any reason.
To be eligible for Plus, a Listing and its Host must meet certain standards. The Listing must: (1) be an entire place or a private room with a private bathroom; and (2) be in a location where Plus is available. The Host must have: (1) maintained a 4.8 average rating from guests over the past year; (2) accepted 95% of booking requests over the past year; (3) not cancelled any reservations (except for extenuating circumstances) over the past year; and (4) maintained the Airbnb Hospitality Standards.
Eligible Hosts will get this information when managing their listings.
Application and Fee
If a Listing and its Host meet the eligibility criteria, the Host may apply to have the Listing admitted into Plus. The application process includes (1) completing a home checklist; (2) scheduling and completing a remote visual assessment; (3) completing a home visit with a third-party inspector, including potentially a photography session; and (4) reviewing the home visit report and making any changes necessary to meet the Program’s qualifications. There may be follow-up home visits to confirm that the Listing continues to meet the Program’s qualifications.
There is a fee (“application fee”) to apply to Plus. Learn more about the application fee. Airbnb will charge the application fee once the Host schedules a home visit with the third-party inspector. The Host may reschedule the home visit up to three times without penalty so long as they do so more than 24 hours in advance of the original inspection time. If the Host cancels or reschedules less than 24 hours in advance of the original inspection time, they will need to pay the fee again to schedule a new inspection. Airbnb may collect the application fee by deducting that amount from the Host’s future earnings, or by requiring payment from the Host directly. The non-refundable application fee is intended to offset the costs of the home visit, including preparation of a home visit report, and the overall application process. Payment of the application fee does not guarantee admission into Plus or continued participation in the Program. Airbnb reserves the right to change the fee amount at any time, or change the application process in any way.
To qualify for Plus, a Listing and its Host must satisfy certain criteria. The Host must: (1) complete a home checklist; (2) schedule and complete a remote visual assessment; (3) make any changes identified in the remote visual assessment to meet the Program’s qualifications; (4) complete a home visit with a third-party inspector, including potentially a professional photography session; and (5) make any changes identified in the home visit report necessary to meet the Program’s qualifications. The Listing must: (1) meet standardized design guidelines as set by a team of interior design partners, assessors, and experts; and (2) adhere to a quality checklist that assesses maintenance, basic amenities, and quality of items to be used by guests such as linens, towels, and bedding. Airbnb reserves the right to change the qualification criteria, and whether a Host or Listing satisfies the qualification criteria is entirely at Airbnb’s sole and final discretion.
Third-party inspectors conduct the home visit and prepare the home visit report. Airbnb does not guarantee or control the safety, legality, quality, suitability or conduct of a Plus Host or Listing, regardless of whether or not the Host or Listing is part of Plus. If your Listing gains admission into Plus, this means the Host and the Listing have met the eligibility standards and satisfied certain qualifying criteria at a given point of time. It does not mean that Airbnb endorses or approves your Listing or you as a Host. You remain entirely responsible for complying with applicable Laws and for all your other obligations under our Terms of Service.
Admission and Benefits
If your Listing qualifies for Plus, a Plus classification indicating your status will automatically be added to the Listing and will remain for as long as you continue to qualify. Admission into Plus brings significant benefits, including but not limited to: (1) categorized placement in search results; (2) interior design advice, editorial suggestions, and professional photography to help you give your Listing a new look; and (3) priority Airbnb support. Airbnb reserves the right to add, modify, reduce, or discontinue the classification or benefits associated with Plus at any time.
Requirement to List Exclusively
By applying to the Program, you agree that, for as long as your Listing is still participating in the Program, solely for those Listings for which you have received an invitation to list your home exclusively with Airbnb Plus (“the Plus Exclusivity Program”), you will not use any online booking service or platform to book or promote such Plus Listing(s). You will ensure that you list, book, and distribute such Plus Listing(s) that are managed, maintained or otherwise controlled by you exclusively on the Airbnb Platform unless you choose to opt out of the Program; provided, however, that you may list your Listing(s) on your own proprietary website. You agree and acknowledge that Airbnb has the right to immediately terminate such Listing(s) from the Program if it discovers that you have been in violation of this paragraph at any time during your membership in Plus, and, at Airbnb’s discretion, Airbnb may take action against you, including, but not limited to, suspending or removing the Listing from the Program indefinitely. If your listing is removed from the Program, either by Airbnb or because you have opted out of the Program, such listing shall no longer present as a Plus listing, and the upgraded photographs and listing description will no longer be visible on the Airbnb Platform. This section does not apply to Listings for which you have not received an invitation to join the Plus Exclusivity Program and only applies to Listings in the United States of America, Mexico, Indonesia, Thailand, Italy, Denmark, Greece, Croatia, and Poland. For the avoidance of doubt, no Listings in Japan or Korea shall be required to be a part of the Plus Exclusivity Program.
If you schedule your appointment and agree to these Terms and Conditions after October 25, 2018, you will receive an email notifying you once your Listing is in final form (your “Final Form Notification”). Within seven (7) days of the date that we send your Final Form Notification (the “Plus Upgrade Date”), your Listing will automatically upgrade to Plus. You agree to review your Listing draft prior to your Plus Upgrade Date and to notify Airbnb of any inaccuracies in the draft Listing details. At any time between the date you receive your Final Form Notification and your Plus Upgrade Date, you may (a) stop your listing from being automatically upgraded to Plus by following the link indicated in your Final Form Notification, (b) edit your Listing or (c) decide to publish your listing before your Plus Upgrade Date by following the link indicated in your Final Form Notification. You acknowledge and agree that receiving a Final Form Notification is not a guarantee that your Listing will be upgraded to Plus.
Any use of the Plus classification not specifically allowed by these Terms and Conditions is not permitted. You are not allowed to use or display your Plus classification outside of your Listing. If your Listing qualifies for Plus status, this does not give you any ownership or other proprietary rights in the Plus classification or other Airbnb intellectual property, other than as provided in these terms. Airbnb retains all rights, title and interest in and to the Plus classification, trademark, and other protected materials.
We want Hosts to be proud of their Listing’s Plus status, but please don’t: (1) claim to be endorsed by an agent or representative of Airbnb, or otherwise misrepresent your association with Airbnb; or (2) commercialize the Plus classification (such as by creating, importing, or selling merchandise with the Plus classification or by displaying your Plus classification on third party websites or mobile applications).
Your Listing’s Plus classification, privileges, and license to use the Plus classification may be revoked at any time if: (1) you violate these terms, the Airbnb Terms of Service or any other Airbnb terms and conditions applicable to you; (2) you or your Listing no longer meet the Program’s eligibility standards or qualifying criteria; or (3) you or your Listing are involved in incidents that violate Airbnb’s hospitality standards. Continued participation in the program is at Airbnb’s sole and final discretion. The application fee is not refundable after scheduling the home visit (as described above) and will not be refunded if for any reason your Listing is no longer included in Plus.
You agree to release, defend (at Airbnb’s option), indemnify, and hold Airbnb and its affiliates and subsidiaries, and their officers, directors, employees and agents, harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including, without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising out of or in any way connected with (i) your breach of these Terms or our Policies or Standards, (ii) your improper use of the Airbnb Platform or any Airbnb Services, (iii) your interaction with any Member, stay at an Accommodation, participation in an Experience, Event or other Host Service, including without limitation any injuries, losses or damages (whether compensatory, direct, incidental, consequential or otherwise) of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of such interaction, stay, participation or use, (iv) Airbnb’s Collection and Remittance of Occupancy Taxes, or (v) your breach of any laws, regulations or third party rights.
If you choose to use the Airbnb Platform or Collective Content, you do so voluntarily and at your sole risk. The Airbnb Platform, Collective Content, the Plus classification and any other materials or Plus Program benefits, are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. The Plus classification or Plus listing status is not in any way an endorsement by Airbnb of any host or listing.
You agree that you have had whatever opportunity you deem necessary to investigate the Airbnb Services, laws, rules, or regulations that may be applicable to your Listings and/or Host Services you are receiving and that you are not relying upon any statement of law or fact made by Airbnb relating to a Listing.
The foregoing disclaimers apply to the maximum extent permitted by law. You may have other statutory rights. However, the duration of statutorily required warranties, if any, shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Limitation of Liability
The Liability terms of Airbnb’s Terms of Service apply to Plus. Airbnb’s maximum cumulative liability under these Terms, or arising in connection with the program, is the amount of the Host’s application fee.
Updates to the Terms
Airbnb reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time in accordance with this provision. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will post the revised Terms on the Airbnb Platform and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms. We will also provide you with modifications by email at least thirty (30) days before the date they become effective. If you disagree with the revised Terms, you may stop participation on Plus with immediate effect. We will inform you about your right to stop participation in Plus in the notification email. If you do not stop participation in Plus before the date the revised terms become effective, your continued access to or use of the Airbnb Platform will constitute acceptance of the revised Terms.
