Wat je gaat doen
Osaka is called the "Kitchen of Japan" because of its abundance of delicious foods and restaurants. On this tour, we will go to a food market where chefs and locals buy and eat fresh seafood, meats, fruits, Japanese sweets, and famous Osaka soul food staples too. We start the tour by briefly walking through 'Doguyasuji' Kitchen Street on our way to Kuromon Market. We will see specialty cookware and accessories used for famous Osaka foods, Japanese ceramics, lacquerware, shop signs, lanterns, plastic display foods, and world-class Japanese knives. Next, we will take a short walk to Kuromon Market. Here we will spend the majority of our time enjoying the wide variety of foods and produce at the various stalls and restaurants selling fresh fish, seafood, shellfish, sushi, fresh oysters, pufferfish, and Kobe beef. There is also a variety of seasonal fruits, fresh juices, delicious Japanese sweets, ice cream, soy milk, and tofu-based based foods to be had. Kuromon market is truly a feast for the eyes and the palette. I will also be able to provide recommendations for all tastes and dietary needs. As the Japanese say "Ittadakimasu" Let's eat! Wat er is inbegrepen
This tour includes one (1) sweet or savory food.
I came to Osaka in 1998 intending to stay a few months but enjoying Japan I never left. I soon found out why Osaka has an expression "eat until you drop" as there are shops and restaurants everywhere and everyone loves their food. The choice of foods and the variety of places to eat is great but it can be overwhelming. I can offer you suggestions, a unique perspective, and share local knowledge with you about Osaka's food and culture often missed or overlooked. With a master's degree in Japanese Studies and by eating at countless food stalls, restaurants, homes, and festivals for over 20 years I have come to a greater understanding of Japanese cuisine and culture. Let's enjoy and discover Osaka together.
