Wat je gaat doen
Guests will be welcomed with a farmhouse coffee and snack before being given a whirlwind tour of the property and it's animal residents. The experience is all about the natural curiosity and interests of the clients guiding the day. All days will be centred around a horse drawn tour of the local agriculture environment. We will share our knowledge of working horses as well as the agricultural practises occurring in the environment around the tour. The tour will take in commercial beef, lamb and dairy farming comparing how farming styles have evolved over the past 100 years. Seasonally as we move through the area we will discuss the local wildlife and what it's up to, much of which can be viewed from the carriage, giving a unique view as well as affording rare sights that cannot be seen from more intimidating modes of transport. Tiggy will focus on the culinary delights that the woodland and hedgerows have to offer whilst Frank can explain the geological processes that shaped the environment around us. All experiences will feature a homemade, and locally sourced lunch. Depending on the season there will be other farm activities occurring, such as hedge laying, vegetable gardening and so forth. The experience is all about allowing the clients to immerse themselves in a rural self-sustaining way of life and most importantly connect with the food they eat.
We (Frank & Tiggy) are carriage driving enthusiasts based in Gloucester. Both from a farming background we are extremely knowledgeable in both traditional and modern farming practices. Tiggy was raised on a a traditional working farm with shire horses where as Frank grew up on a conventional beef and sheep farm. We are avid stewards of the land and enjoy sharing our knowledge of how farming and nature interact on a day to day basis. Tiggy holds a degree in agriculture. Tiggy is an avid forager of wild foods from the local environment and enjoys using these local ingredients to add another dimension to her dishes. Frank a former peroleum geologist as well as GB carriage driver has a keen interest in the local geology. The farm specialises in training and producing both competition and pleasure driving horses
