Wat je gaat doen
Start your day with a lovely morning hike in my beloved neighborhood, Seongbuk-dong. It is one of the few neighborhoods in Seoul that survived urban redevelopment and has still preserved the look of Seoul in the late 60s and 70s. For that, it is often referred as living museum of humanities. It is bordered by the Seoul fortress wall that shields the area from the hustle and bustle of the city. The neighborhood is relatively unknown to tourists but is now gaining more popularity among the locals for its tranquil and historical atmosphere. It is interesting to see the huge contrast between this humble area and embassies and fancy mansions of the wealthy people. We will visit a beautiful Buddhist temple that has a heart-aching love story behind and have a short hike up the fortress wall to have a panoramic view of Seoul. The tour ends here, but I’d like to invite you to my home for a cup of coffee or soft drink afterwards. I live with a friendly cat who thinks she's a dog(instagram: kuro_baby).
Welcome fellow travelers! I'm a young professional of Tourism & Hospitality industry. I'm a Swiss hotel school graduate who's worked as a cabin crew and hotelier at international organizations for years. As you can imagine, I've been around the world but I must say there is no place like my home in Seoul. I live in a very unique neighborhood called Seongbuk-dong where is known for its rich history, natural environment and popular local restaurants. I and my husband searched months for our perfect newlywed house before we finally decided to settle down here- life in nature and tranquility but still within 30 mins from the center of Seoul. I believe a glimpse into local's home is always a bonus when you are traveling overseas. I live with a friendly cat named Kuro and you are welcome for a cup of coffee at my place at the end of the Trip :)
