Wat je gaat doen
Guests will arrive at the property and meet at our view spot that looks out over the ocean and the entire Santa Barbara Channel. Once everyone arrives, we will all introduce ourselves to one another. From there we will begin the tour of our growing fields. During the tour, we will give our guests a full breakdown of what our business is about and what we do here on the farm. We will discuss our farming methods, our mission, and our history/stories. Most importantly, we will discuss details about every type of medicinal plant we grow, and we will educate guests on how the plants can be used medicinally. During this time guests will be able to feel, smell, and taste all of the medicinal plants, as well as ask us any questions they have about the amazing plants we grow. After touring the fields and learning about the plants, guests will be able to harvest a basket of fresh medicinal herbs of their choice to take home. Once guests have finished harvesting, everyone will gather back at the view spot for a tea party. We will provide hot water, fresh herbs, and mugs, and guests will be able to try out a variety of different herbal teas while enjoying a one of a kind ocean view. Guests will be able to take home all of the medicinal herbs that they harvest.

We, Mary and Rob, are owners of Sweet Mountaintop Farm, a small (1 acre) farm surrounded by avocado orchards on Rincon Mountain, just outside the quaint coastal town of Carpinteria. We focus on growing medicinal herbs and everlasting flowers, as well as producing herbal products such as tea blends, salves, infused honeys, and hydrosols. We both have several years of farming experience - working on other farms - and we are now in our second season of running our own project. Mary has studied herbalism through the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, and Rob has studied herbalism independently for the last decade. Mary is co-author of a cookbook titled "The Tiny Mess", and Rob is a co-founder of brewLAB, a craft brewery located in Carpinteria.

Waar je zult zijn
The entire experience will take place on our relatively secluded farm on Rincon Mountain, with views of the mountains to the north, and the ocean to the south and to the west. The farm is at approx. 1800 feet of elevation. During summer, we do our tour later in the day as temperatures here on the farm can be 10-15 degrees warmer than the coast below. Fog is also not uncommon. If rain is in the forecast, we will cancel the tour with a full refund
