Wat we gaan doen

The Museum of Living in Communism is practically a time-machine that will send you back in communist times, where you will be able to experience, first-hand, the living conditions of a normal working class family. This means that you will be able to interact with the horror of living in cramped conditions, in a 49 square metres apartment which has no balcony and where heating, water and…

Wat je nog meer moet weten

The apartment is at the 4th floor of a building that does not have an elevator. The TV set is old and you`ll be able to watch only VHS cassettes with old movies and documentaries, there is no cable and AC. The food we will provide is food from communist time, no vegetarian/raw vegan stuff.

Wat ik aanbied

Degustatiemenu
Traditional food that we used to have in communist time in Romania. Dishes usually cooked at home, by old ladies that still know the classical recipes.
Koffie, Gedistilleerde dranken, Water en Wijn
Traditional wine and spirits made in-house by romanians in communist times. Coffee that resembles the communist time coffee brands.
Uitrusting
All the electronics in the Museum of Living in Communism are from the 80s, black and white Tv set, video recorder. Also, the fridge, stove, radio, vacuum cleaner are from the 70s and even earlier. The furniture are typical for late 70s, early 80s period.

Waar je zult zijn

The Living Museum of Communism is located in a typical working class building, very close to the former truck factory Red Flag, on the street now called Cornel Liviu Babes after the engineer who on 5th of March 1989, out of sheer desperation, set himself in fire while he was on Poiana Brasov, the main ski resort of Romania, event that attracted international media attention on Ceausescu regime atrocities.
