Wat je gaat doen

Immerse yourself in an arts project through pottery & music

Join us in a clay craft workshop, where you will create your own clay musical instrument to play and take home. After a break, you will learn how to play the UDU (clay drum) and all kinds of wonderfully strange clay contraptions.
Expect local rhythms, new songs and loads of belly laughs.
We will immerse you in our world of pottery making, of friendship crafting, of turning the world into a madly beautiful place, one unexpected friendship at a time.
You will get to dig into the clay, and discover your creative side, so be sure not to dress in your Sunday best!
This experience is great for families and is fully kid-friendly.

This was a GREAT experience. It starts with a brief tour of the community of which this pottery studio is a part, giving us the history and significance of this area. Was lovely. Then we made and painted clay flutes. Our guide was lovely!! He was so gentle and connected so well with our 4-year old son!! Then we played some of their clay drums!! Amazing! All topped off with a yummy lunch!! We had so much fun!! Loved our guide!!

We're a family with two small kids, 4 and 6, and we all had a great time with John Ross from Johan's studio. The time was a mix of peaceful (quiet clay work time) and joyful (music and drumming!). We feel like we had an insider's morning in a part of the Western Cape that tourists don't typically go to, and it was fantastic. Our kids didn't want to leave. And the local food they served was insanely delicious. Highly recommend!
