Wat je gaat doen

In this online experience, I start by sharing the story behind how and why I became a Buddhist monk and about my meditation practice. Next, we’ll do two types of meditation together.

First is a chanting mantra for 20 minutes. This type of meditation allows you to go deep into your practice. Next we will do a 10-minute breathing-out meditation. Afterwards, you’ll share your questions and reflections on the practice.

I am also happy to offer other meditations, such as meditation with a candle or mirror, Qigong, Sutra copying, and counting meditation, one of the basic Zen practices.

I've been a Buddhist monk for nearly 20 years. I worked in Shitennoji Temple for 12 years as a monk, doing zen meditation. I have been doing guided meditations for Airbnb guests for five years, welcoming nearly 4,000 guests.

I've never done mantras in my meditations before, but Suzuki-san guided us through in a very lighthearted and calming way. He taught us why and how to meditate, and he's also willing to keep in contact afterward for questions. A great experience!

This chanting and meditation was SO interesting and relaxing. Kuniatsu took the time to explain the ‘why’, before the ‘how’. He is an entertaining storyteller and very friendly!

I booked this in the morning and it was a GREAT way to start the day. As a complete novice at meditation, it was easy to follow along and also very insightful for continue to practice.
