Wat je gaat doen
In a cosy and traditional place, we will taste 7 type moles and seven different Mezcales. Get a framework for how to think about mezcal, in a way that regular tastings and visits to local mezcal bars do not offer. Try seven handcrafted moles of Oaxaca, all in a single experience. The tasting contains all the educational values of a Sommelier wine tasting, as well as the space to ask all you want. The Mezcales that you will try are carefully selected as they differentiate the characteristics of the different Agaves: Espadin, Cuishe, Madre Cuishe, Tobala, Tepeztate, Arroqueño and a blend. Its is an educational and pleasant-tasting paired with a different mole for each mezcal.
Ask and discuss your impressions, share and meet people that want to enjoy the Mezcal experience at a different level.
Other things to note
We have everything you will need!

Certified Sommelier Daniel Rodriguez Gonzalez is a
filmmaker, seasoned traveller, historian, and enthusiast of life. His passion for wine began as a child while listening to his grandfather tell stories of making wine in Spain; from his first sip at age 12, he knew wine had many stories to tell. After studying film at in Mexico City, he began to travel the world, documenting stories as diverse as shamanic practices in México or walking 500 miles crossing Spain doing the Way of Saint James.
Working at a wine bar in Madrid, and later as Tasting Room Manager at Texas’ Spicewood Vineyards, he discovered he liked teaching others about wine as much as he enjoyed drinking it. Nothing makes him happier today than finding that Mezcal is as diverse and exciting as the world of wine.

I have nothing but amazing things to say after taking Daniel’s class. We had a bad experience with a cab driver snd arrived late but he didn’t make us feel bad once. He spoke impeccable English and commonly went back and forth between both languages. He is extremely knowledgeable about mezcal and left us with one of the best experiences in Oaxaca.

This mole & mezcal tasting really tied my whole experience in Oaxaca all together! I definitely kept track of my favorites and I feel like such an expert in mezcal aromas and flavors.
The only thing I'd change is the wooden spoon that's served with the mole as the flavor of the wood can be tasted along with the mole. Other than that, everything was perfect and I hope to experience this again the next time I'm in Oaxaca!

It was such a great experience! You will never regret it and you will actually learn a lot aboutthe different mezcales and moles, that are not even in the market. The pairing of each mezcales and moles were amazing! Daniel was a great host! Lots of interesting stories and clear explanations of the products. Such an amazing host. I could say he really knows what he is talking about. The place is homie and cozy! It felt like I was just chilling at home but in a more upgraded version. 🙂 I highly recommend this activity, especially for those who are fascinated with mexican food and drink culture. One great experience.

Excellent idea and so well thought of. Two of the biggest things in Oaxaca bought together perfectly. The tasting was great fun the host was so fill of knowledge and information but at the same time kept its casual with letting us get to know him and picking his brain on all his knowledge. The environment was perfect very comfortable and homey, I’d feel very comfortable as a solo traveler going into his great setting. Highly recommended!!
