Wat je gaat doen

Get to know Zurich by bike, see the most important districts, see some of Zurich's most important landmarks and learn where locals hang out beyond the typical tourist areas!

I will take you on a 2.5-hour bicycle (or e-scooter) tour of Zurich and show different facets of the city while giving historical and cultural information at regular stops along the way. You will be seeing the newest and the oldest areas of Zurich!

There will be a possibility to take a dip in the Limmat river at the end of the tour so take a bathing suit if you're keen!

If you want to take an e-scooter you will have to rent one on your own at your own expense.

ATTENTION: The tour will not take place if it is raining or stormy. If the tour is cancelled I will let participants know 24 hours in advance.

I am proficient in English, German, French and Spanish but the explanations along the route will be in English, except when all participants understand another of the languages spoken.

I work in the film industry and like most people in central Zurich, I go around by bike. I have been living in Zurich for 14 years and use the bike almost daily. Traffic in Zurich can be tricky because roads are narrow and bike lanes are haphazard (they appear and disappear and reappear) but I use safe routes so that you can discover some of the most interesting areas the city has to offer. I've discovered many cities by bike and want to offer you a springboard for doing the same in Zurich.

I am proficient in English, German, French, Spanish and Swiss German.

As my own travel plans have been thrown into disarray by the corona situation, I'm unable to do long-term scheduling for this experience right now but don't hesitate to ask if you have specific dates in mind and I'll see if I can make it work.

Waar je naartoe gaat

The tour will begin at the Landesmuseum (beside the train station) and lead down the Limmat River, past Letten. From there we will cross into the old industrial district "Züri West", past some of Zurichs iconic buildings in this new start-up style area. We then ride through the nightlife area of Langstrasse, through the business district and then to the historical heart of Zurich with its main churches. Total distance is 10 kilometres.

The tour was just as expected. We had a rocky start with the bike rental, but overall I really enjoyed the experience. Alex showed us places we would have never known to look for. Would gladly recommend to my friends and family.

Great way to see different parts of Zurich that you might not see on your own or on other tours. Highly recommend biking as it’s the best to the city.

Great experience. We went to places that we wouldn't have found on our own. My husband and I even went back to one of the spots he showed us later that night for drinks. Would recommend!
